Why is it that you think a WOW effect is so hard to get ? Who told you you would need to change everything in the way you are addressing your customers ?
What if it was an every day task, an every day look to what you could do to improve the customer experience, even for one of them only ? Who says it wouldn’t create a big reaction in the community without you noticing it at the beggining ?…
So every day you should look for something you can actually do, even a very small act, to help your customers have (and share) a better experience !
